The Dedication by E. N. Dahl

The Dedication By E. N. Dahl My town’s suicide rates are astronomical. Literally off the chart. If you plotted every single American city on a single grid, you’d have a relatively flat line, with peaks for high density areas like New York City. Seven million people all going into crushing debt at the same time are obviously going to have higher numbers than, say, Nowhere, Colorado, where property values are low and legal weed abundant. Then you have my town. I refuse to write its name, or else you might come visit. Whatever amount of deaths per year NYC has, my home has triple. It’s because of Alexia M. Mykov. People don’t think it’s her. She’s everywhere you look, and always around a person right before they die. Doesn’t matter how. They meet, she leaves, the other dies. In the past two months, four people were found with their wrists slit in the bathtub, six jumped off the overpass, two overdosed on pain pills, three hanged, and seventeen shot themselves. Issue #3 Is Out Now!!!

Issue #3 is out now!!! In this issue you’ll encounter a singer whose murder weapon of choice is her songs, a battle between Nikki Sixx and Medusa, a punk band whose music is less recommended for pregnancies than all the world’s roller coasters and vodka combined, a strange planet inhabited entirely by people who think they’re Elvis Presley and more. Featuring stories by Thomas Vaughn, E.N. Dahl, Ben Fitts, Frank Edler, Matthew Wilson, Matt Wall and cover art by Rose Chateau. Available in pink and blue.  You purchase this issue though Etsy (U.S. + international) here:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/631267104/the-rock-n-roll-horror-zine-3 Or for slightly cheaper shipping, you can buy it direct here (U.S. only):  https://doomgoat666.wixsite.com/benfitts/zines

Kill Riff by E.N. Dahl

Kill Riff By E. N. Dahl Jamie invited me to see Kill Riff. I had nothing better to do. Besides, you don’t say no to a free show. She offered to foot the bill, so we arrived at The Hammer, where I blindly followed the swish of her mint green blouse through a mindless horde of pre-drunk superfans. I’ll admit, I didn’t pay attention to the opener. Whatever the band was, they did okay. It’s rude not to listen, worse not to pay attention, but a man five years older than my dad and fifty pounds heavier kept ‘accidentally’ bumping me. This kept happening even when Jamie and I moved another hundred or so feet into the floor crowd. Then the main band took the stage. A shaggy-haired man with three days’ worth of stubble and enough acne for my old school’s senior class stumbled up to the mic. Behind him, a surly drummer tapped his drumsticks together, pretending to warm up, while the bassist tipped his flask to the sky, oblivious to all of us. “We are Ultra. Are you ready for ...
